DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Members of Dallas Fire Rescue had to call for extra support while battling an early morning fire on the east side of the city.

Firefighters were called to the 800 block of South Beacon Street just after midnight.

When fire crews arrived flames were shooting from the roof and the order was given to battle the fire from the street, because going inside would be dangerous.

The roof collapsed after more than an hour of raining water down water on the Fruteria Cano produce market and Fide's Beauty Salon next door.

The building is a total loss.

No one was inside either business at the time of the fire and no firefighters were injured.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what sparked the blaze.
