Fire Causes Evacuations At Children's Medical Center Dallas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Emergency crews have responded in force at Children's Medical Center in Dallas.

Firefighters went to the scene after a fire, with heavy smoke, started on the 4th floor of the hospital and was under control by 1:55 p.m.

Part of the hospital, in the 1900 block of Medical District Drive, has been evacuated.

The big issue Thursday afternoon was clearing the smoke from inside the hospital, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson Jason Evans.

First repsonders are also placing particular focus on all the people out in the heat who had to be evacuated from that particular area inside the hospital.
