Lockdown At Fort Worth Middle School After Fight Involving Students And Staff

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A fight involving several students and staff members led to a middle school in Fort Worth being placed on lockdown.

Police were called to Rosemont Middle School just after 9:30 a.m. More than a half dozen squad cars descended on the school in the 1500 block of West Seminary Drive.

Officials with MedStar Ambulance Services say 3 students, 5 staff members and 1 officer received minor injuries during the incident. There were no weapons involved and none were taken to the hospital.

Officials told CBS 11 News there were between 3 and 5 students arguing in a hallway and a scuffle ensued after a police officer tried to intervene. The fight was broken up quickly after additional staff came to help the officer and a security guard.

Officials say all other students at the school were "secured in their classrooms" as police conducted their investigation. The school was on lockdown for more than an hour.

In all, five students were taken into police custody.

Administrators said additional police security would remain at the school.
