Fatal Accident Shuts Down Part Of I-35

CARROLTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A fatal accident shut down part of I-35E in Carrollton for several hours Sunday night.

Police said around 8:40 p.m. a vehicle was heading northbound on the freeway before Frankford Road, when it lost control and drove through the grassy median.

The car then flipped over the concrete barricade and landed on the northbound lanes of I-35E.

The driver was ejected from the car and died at the scene.

The roads re-opened around 1 a.m.

The name of the victim was not released and there was no word Sunday on what might have caused the crash.
