Farmers Branch Police Arrest Suspect Who Stabbed Off-Duty Officer

FARMERS BRANCH (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Farmers Branch said they have arrested a man accused of stabbing an off-duty officer early Saturday morning.

News of the arrest was announced in a tweet late Saturday, but no details were provided on where the man was found.

According to police, the officer came across the suspect, who they believe to be homeless, at an apartment complex in the 4000 block of Sigma Road around 2:30 a.m Saturday.

Investigators say the man stabbed the officer and ran off.

Police say the officer was in ICU but has since been released.

Through the investigation, Farmers Branch police obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect who was identified as Donald Ramel James White.

Police had told the public the suspect was armed and dangerous.

There was no word early Sunday what charges White might face.
