ARLINGTON (CBS11) - Saturday was a busy night in Arlington with the Texas Rangers in the middle of a playoff push and the Dallas Cowboys kicking off their first home pre-season game. That meant getting around in the area of I-30, Highway-360, and Collins Street was a challenge.

Anytime the Cowboys play at AT&T Stadium, you can expect traffic and a mad hunt for parking, but those few times out of the year when you have the Rangers playing next door at the same time, you're going to need patience.

If you want to get close to the stadium, it's going to cost you.

"There is no parking. We've been looking 30 minutes. It's a hundred dollars to park here. I think that's a little extreme," Daniel Saylor said.

$60 a few blocks down may seem like a bargain. Taylor Rodriguez got excited when he found $10 parking until halfway through the walk to the stadium he hadn't even made it past the Rangers fans going to the baseball game.

"We were actually thinking about maybe just calling Uber to take us from the parking spot to the stadium, so we still might do that afterwards. That's always an option," Rodriguez said.

Tailgaters had considerably better access directly across the stadium as they prepared for the game.

"Last game we did a little bad, so I know this game we're going to turn it around. The stars are going to be in, so hopefully we see something good, see some good football," tailgater Justin Cave said.

Inside you could feel the excitement as fans watched a sometimes close game.

"I'm pumped right now. I'm just excited to be here. It's a fun atmosphere. I love Jerry World, love Jerry," Cowboys fan Blake Harris said.

A lot of people called this game a dress rehearsal. It was also good preparation for fans who will have another day of double games when both the Rangers and the Cowboys play September 13th.
