PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - A family is in shock after a husband and wife died in their own home.

The family said the couple's three children are safe with relatives, but the entire family is still trying to make sense of what happened Thursday morning.

As Akbar Karimi stopped by his sister-in law's home in the 3100 block of Manga Drive, he still couldn't believe she and her husband were gone.

"They were wonderful people, and unfortunately something happened in their life, and that made this happen," Karimi said.

It was around 7 o'clock when Melinda Sandor says her husband found two young children across their back alley running toward him.

"He just said, don't be alarmed. There's two kids downstairs. They think their father has shot their mother," Sandor said.

Karimi said his sister-in-law, Noshin Chambers and her husband had been separated for several weeks.

"This morning she was taking her kids to the school, and her husband showed up with a gun in his hand and killed her and then took his life," Chambers said.

According to Karimi, the couple's 17-year-old son was still inside the home and called police.

"They're in a lot of shock right now. I mean both parents are gone, and they have a big gap in their life," Karimi said.

Now the family hopes everyone who hears about the couple's deaths will learn an important lesson.

"Don't take any drastic decisions in your life, you know, and just think about twice. If you have any differences with someone, settle them with them rather than damaging other relationships," Karimi said.

Police describe the incident as a shooting investigation, but they are assuring neighbors it's an isolated incident, and they aren't looking for any suspects.
