Family Donates Daughter's Organs To 7 People After Deadly Crash

GREENVILLE (CBS11) - A young woman who was killed in a crash now has the attention of state troopers who are looking into the possibility of "road rage."
Lilianne Hays died are investigators said the vehicle she was traveling in collided with an SUV.
The wreck happened along Highway 34 in Greenville as Lilianne and her sister Savannah were headed to school.
"I just tried my hardest to stay on the road and I couldn't get a hold of the car," said Savannah Hays. "I yelled her name and I was just waiting for the car to get done flipping, I don't know what happened I just knew I wanted it to get to one piece so I could get out of the car because I noticed she wasn't with me. She wasn't next to me at all."
While no charges have been filed, Savannah said it seemed like the driver of the SUV was irritated by how slow they were traveling.
"I paid the ultimate price. I had to bury one of my children which no man should ever have to do that," said Ernest Hays, her father.
While the investigation continues, Ernest and his wife Brandy made a December decision that will forever change seven lives. They decided to donate her organs.
"She didn't need it where she was going. She was going to be made whole again. And the fact that she saved seven people and gave them a chance to move on, gives me some kind of comfort," said Brandy Hays.
While nothing will bring Lilianne Hays back, her family said it is comforting to know seven people are living and breathing with a little piece of an angel.
"Whoever receives her heart, the recipient, I hope they don't have diabetes because they're going to receive a heart that's pure sugar," said Ernest Hays.
