BEAUMONT (CBSDFW) - Authorities are investigating an alleged bomb threat at the ExxonMobil plant near Beaumont, Texas.

The facility has not been evacuated.

The company released the following statement Wednesday afternoon:

"On Wednesday, June 15, ExxonMobil's Beaumont facility received a bomb threat. Although we cannot confirm that this threat is credible, we take matters of this nature very seriously; we contacted the appropriated authorities and called for an employee shelter in place for our workforce. We will continue to work with our contractor companies and authorities to investigate."
