Feels-like temperatures could peak at 109 for parts of North Texas Friday
NORTH TEXAS (CBSNewsTexas.com) — Happy Thursday, North Texas! Your First Alert weather team wanted to update you on the heat threat that will remain in the region tonight and heading into Friday.
The Excessive Heat Warning remains in place for all of North Texas through 9 p.m. Thursday. Actual temperatures could be as high as 109 degrees, and the feels-like temperatures could be as high as 115.
While dangerous temperatures and feels-like temperatures are also expected into Friday, it doesn't quite meet the warning threshold. Therefore, the National Weather Service will be transitioning our area to a Heat Advisory for Friday until 9 p.m.
This is not a heat forecast to take lightly. Regardless of whether we're under an advisory or a warning, you should take the necessary precautions to stay safe while outdoors or limit your time outside altogether.
