DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — It's one of those moments where you remember where you were when you got the news: Fifty-two years ago in downtown Dallas, President John F. Kennedy was shot.

To mark the anniversary of the assassination of JFK, a moment of silence gathering was held at Dealey Plaza Sunday afternoon, followed by events at the Sixth Floor Museum.

The programs explored aspects of the Kennedy presidency and assassination, including rarely seen films and photographs.

Earlier this month, the Associated Press reported that the license plates of the limo carrying JFK through Dallas are going up for auction.
