Elderly Woman Dies After Fire At Dallas Condominium

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - An elderly woman has died after a fire at a Dallas condominium early Tuesday morning.

Crews responded to a two-alarm fire at the Meadows North condominiums on Meadow Road at around midnight. Officials on scene said an elderly resident had called 911 about the fire.

Arriving firefighters reported smoke coming from a second-floor unit. According to officials, the woman was found unresponsive and was pulled from the burning unit.

She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released.

Dallas Fire-Rescue believes the fire started in her kitchen and spread into the attic and then to other units. Officials said four units in total were damaged and that four other people were displaced.
