AUSTIN (AP) — An East Austin pastor was charged with a "super felony" after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage parishioner.

The Austin American-Statesmen reports that 68-year-old Henry Lee McGee Sr. is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child. The charge is an elevated first-degree felony sometimes referred to as a "super felony." It carries a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

The victim told authorities about numerous sexual encounters with the pastor of First Baptist Church. Arrest documents say the abuse began when the girl was 13 years old and lasted more than a year.

Williamson County Jail records show that McGee was arrested Monday and released the same day after posting $80,000 bail.

The church and McGee didn't immediately return requests for comment from the newspaper Tuesday.
