First Alert Weather: Heat Advisory in effect for parts of North Texas through Tuesday evening
NORTH TEXAS (CBSNewsTexas.com) — It was a milder start to the week Monday with temperatures peaking at only 102 degrees.
If you're keeping track, it marked North Texas' 16th 100-degree day this summer, and we still have 61 days left to go.
Just after 2:30 p.m., the current Heat Advisory was expanded to include more of North Texas, including the metroplex. This goes through 8 p.m. Tuesday, but will likely be extended again.
The First Alert Weather team doesn't think North Texas will meet the criteria for an Excessive Heat Warning this week; however, this heat is definitely excessive.
Unfortunately, a break isn't coming any time soon. North Texas has triple digits in the forecast through the extended seven-day forecast with no appreciable rain chances.
Stay cool!
