Dream Cars And Motorcycles Sold At Down-To-Earth Prices

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Luxury vehicles and tricked-out motorcycles are usually reserved for the wealthy and affluent.
But dream cars and bikes are selling for 30 percent to 50 percent below market value… but there is a catch and maybe a dent or two.
"It's like the ultimate poor man's paradise," said Crush Alvarado. "You can buy something with what you can afford and fix it yourself."
Alvarado recently purchased a Harley-Davidson Road King from "CrashedToys."
"I couldn't walk in and pay half of what's in this bike," said Alvarado.
Like many of the bikes, cars and other novelty vehicles up for auction at "CrashedToys," Alvarado's motorcycle had a few dents at the time.
From a scratched tank on a Harley Sportster, to the snapped axels on a Polaris Razor, the shop even has a lime-green, V10, 600 horsepower Lamborghini.
"We're kind of the orphanage I guess," said Trey Cluck, general manager at CrashedToys.
Cluck said the concept of the shop is to help people get behind the wheel or bars of their wish-list ride without breaking the bank.
"It's a new lease on life for the inventory because there's a lot of life left in most of them," said Cluck.
Cluck estimates CrashedToys is moving about 75 items a week at prices one-third to ½ lower than market value.
Evert auction starts at zero, but buyers need to be diligent.
"If you know you're buying in to salvage or buying something that was in an accident, don't come in expecting to get a brand new motorcycle or brand new car," said Cluck.
Everything is sold as is.
"That's the big question. What happened to them? Honestly, I don't want to know," said Cluck.
Most buyers like Alvarado don't care to know about the history of their new wheels. All that matters to him is the price and having extra cash to make it his own.
"It may not be perfect, but you can buy something that may need a little work. But once again, on your dime, on your time, you can build it back up," said Alvarado.
The auctions at CrashedToys are every Saturday from 1 p.m. - 10 p.m. The shop is open from Monday through Friday so that potential buyers can inspect anything before they bid.
