DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A late night drug bust ends with Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) special agents firing at the suspects.

According to DPS, investigators were in Dallas, near Empire Central and Interstate-35, conducting a criminal drug investigation. Officials say a suspect driving a vehicle tried to run an agent over as he stood unprotected in a parking lot.

The agent fired at the suspect but didn't hit the driver or another person in the vehicle. The suspects sped away from the scene, but after being pursued by agents stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. Agents gave chase and were able to take two suspects into custody.

In all, a total of five people were arrested and at least two pounds of methamphetamines was seized.

The incident is under investigation.
