DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A 17-year-old boy lost control of his vehicle in the 1500 block of Buckner Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. Friday and hit an SUV, killing the driver.

Police said the teen was "traveling at a high rate of speed."

A witness said the teen driver "entered the southbound lane of traffic and collided into two vehicles going southbound."

Police said the driver of a Lincoln Navigator died on the way to the hospital. The passenger in the Navigator suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital as well.

The driver of the second vehicle struck, a Ford Freestar van, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

A grand jury will decide what, if any, charges will be filed against the teen.
