MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) – It's the most wonderful time of year and Historic Downtown McKinney is playing host to a new holiday favorite. A 34-foot Blue Spruce Christmas tree will be the focal point of the holiday festivities on McKinney's main street.

McKinney Main Street announced a fundraising campaign called a McKinney Christmas Tree - A Gift to the Community, which will raise funds to cover the cost of importing the tree from Michigan and for decorations.

"We are so excited to have the Christmas Tree in downtowns square on display throughout the holiday season," said Amy Rosenthal, Director of the McKinney Performing Arts Center and Main Street. "It will serve as a beautiful backdrop for holiday photos and be a sight for the entire family to enjoy."

For a $50 donation to the fund raising campaign, families will receive recognition at the display and the first 100 donors will receive a commemorative keepsake ornament. Click here for more information.
