COLLIN COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A nearly 4-hour domestic situation and police standoff in Wylie has ended.

The tense situation in  a residential area caused officials to put a nearby North Texas elementary school on partial lockdown.

Students at Groves Elementary School were moved from portable learning rooms to inside the main building. Officials say anyone arriving at the school was also put through a more detailed check-in process.

The partial lockdown began about 7:30 a.m.

Several homes in the area near the 100 block of McCreary Road have been evacuated.

This morning a man inside a home in the area called 911 and said that they had shot someone. A SWAT team responded to reports of gunfire.

Members of the Garland Police Department sent a robot inside the house and discovered two people dead.

Police say there was at least one other person inside that house during the incident and they are being questioned.
