Dodgers Returning To San Antonio To Play Rangers

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Los Angeles Dodgers are going to the Alamo City for the first time in 15 years next March for exhibition games against the Texas Rangers.

The two games announced Wednesday will be played March 20-21. It will be the third Big League Weekend at the Alamodome.

San Antonio was the home of the Dodgers' Double-A team from 1977-2000.

More than 200 players from the Dodgers organization who played in San Antonio made it to the major leagues. The list includes Mike Scioscia, Orel Hershiser, Fernando Valenzuela and Adrian Beltre, who is now the Rangers third baseman.

When Texas played San Diego there in 2013 and Houston last year, the games came after the Rangers broke camp from Arizona. These games will be in the middle of spring training.
