DFW-Bound American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - An American Airlines flight headed to Dallas-Fort Worth made an emergency landing shortly after taking off from LAX Airport in Los Angeles Monday afternoon.

The captain aboard Flight 2448 reported a cracked windshield moments after taking off from LAX sometime after 4 p.m. local time.

The plane immediately returned to LAX and landed safely, according to an airline spokesperson.

More than 180 passengers and 5 crew members were switched to a different plane and were expected to be back in the air within an hour.
