DFW AIRPORT (CBSDFW.COM) -- One female suspect is in custody after a stand-off that lasted more than an hour at DFW Airport. The stand-off began after the DFW Airport's Department of Public Safety police attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic stop.

David Magaña, Senior Manager Corporate Communications for DFW Airport said the woman initially led officers on a low speed chase to a remote area on the airport's east side at about 10AM.

Magaña said at that point the woman stopped near the FAA tower on East Airfield Dr. and refused to exit her car while police attempted to communicate with her.

The FAA briefly closed runways in the vicinity but that normal flight operations soon resumed.

Magaña said after the initial stop, the woman drove away again and stopped on South Airfield Drive where she was arrested.

A tow truck could be seen removing a small SUV from the location. The SUV appeared to have some damage to the rear end of the vehicle. From Chopper 11, it appeared that the SUV had Florida license plates.

Magaña said the investigation is still ongoing.

The woman's name has not been released.
