Dez's Domestic Violence Charge Still Pending In Dallas Court

DALLAS, Texas (1080 KRLD) -  Court records show the misdemeanor domestic violence case against Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is still pending, even though it was supposed to be dismissed a year ago.

The Dallas County District Attorney's office says it's a matter of the defense failing to file papers for nearly a year.

But the court file is clear, the domestic abuse case against Dez Bryant is still pending.

Bryant was arrested in DeSoto in July of 2012 when his mother said she was struck during a family disturbance.

An agreement signed several months later called for Bryant to undergo counseling and anger management for one year...and the case would be dismissed.

That would have been December of last year.

Yet the case is not only pending, another setting for January has been scheduled.

Legal experts say the whole thing is unusual, particularly when domestic violence is a hot topic in the NFL.

Bryant's attorney, Texas State Senator Royce West, has not returned 1080 KRLD's call to comment on the case.
