Despite National Decline, Dallas Ranked Top In Country For Job Growth

According to a recent report from the Dallas Business Journal, "'The Dallas-Fort Worth metro area continues to add jobs well above the national average rate,' said Robert Dye, Chief Economist for Comerica Bank. 'The energy sector continues to do well and non-energy companies are relocating to North Texas to take advantage of the great location and business climate. This in turn is creating demand for new and existing businesses, further boosting employment numbers.'"

U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, also reported that from May 2013 to May 2014, Dallas had the largest percentage of employment increase over the year of the 38 metropolitan areas.

The Dallas and Ft. Worth area has benefited from the increase in job growth, bringing new companies and new employees to the area. That growth has fueled North Texas construction with new apartments and homes being built to house the growing Metroplex.

The search for upper-level executives is on the rise - as companies, like Toyota (with their recent relocation from Torrance, California to Plano, Texas), move to North Texas to take advantage of tax incentives and relatively mild climate.

Those with an advanced degree (master's or higher) are in the best situation to be selected for those positions. The field of technology is booming in Dallas, making the city a top player in the game of technology giants against Austin and historically tech-forward, California.

"By advancing my educational credentials, many doors were opened to me that would have otherwise been closed. Leadership is all about serving others and the more you have (knowledge), the more you can give," said Ron Nieman reflecting on his education in relation to his position at Sanford Rose Associates – Dallas North, an executive search firm for the telecommunications and IT industry.

The news gets even better as a recent report by Forbes, says that "Texas Dominates The Best Cities For Good Jobs," and predicts that Dallas will reach 2.8 percent growth in employment by 2019.
