Denton Police Arrest Man Following Early Morning Crime Spree

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Denton Police arrested a man they say went on quite a crime spree early Thursday morning.

Derek Goalen, 26, was taken into custody in the 2200 block of E. McKinney, shortly after 8 am.  Police say about two hours earlier, he broke into the home of a woman he did not know.  She called 911 to report an unknown man in her bedroom, located in the 2400 block of E. McKinney, shortly after 6 am.

About a half hour earlier, police say a man fitting Goalen's description, was reported as the suspect for a sexual assault in the 200 block of Joshua Street.

Finally, at about 4:15 am of the same morning, police say Goalen assaulted a 9-year-old girl in the block of N. Crawford Street.

Police have charged Goalen with Aggravated Sexual Assault, but say investigations continue for the other crimes are ongoing and more charges against him are expected.
