Deadly Crash Involving 18-Wheeler & SUV Closes Highway

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Three people have been killed in an accident on U.S. Highway 69, near the Fannin and Hunt County line.

The head-on crash involved an 18-wheeler and a smaller-sized SUV.

According to investigators, the SUV was northbound when it crossed over into the southbound lane.  All three occupants in the SUV, a man, woman and infant child, were killed in the crash.

The names of the deceased have not been released.

Police closed Highway 69 for hours while officials with the Leonard Police Department investigated.

Fannin County emergency officials initially requested assistance from the Celeste Fire Department to help victims.
