Dallas Zoo Offering Free Admission For Canned Food & Pet Supply Donations

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — Dallas Zoo is giving patrons the chance to see some animals and, along the way, help furry friends and North Texans affected by the Dec. 26 tornadoes.
As part of the zoo's "Zoo Unto Others" program, those who donate two cans of food or like-new pet supplies will receive one free admission to the park that day. The offer runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Around 2,200 people visited the zoo on Saturday, according to a tweet.

The zoo will take the donations to the North Texas Food Bank, City of Rowlett Animal Shelter, Garland Animal Services and the Animal Hospital of Garland to help those affected by the tornadoes.
The zoo is accepting canned goods and pet supplies, such as dog and cat food, leashes, collars, blankets, beds, treats and toys.
