DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are investigating the death of a woman in her Dallas home. The 82-year-old victim, identified as Atreall Campbell, was discovered at around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday night at a residence in the 7900 block of Trojan Street.
"I just want justice to be served. He's not going to get away with it. I don't know what happened, I don't want to speculate. But mama is dead, and somebody killed mama we do know that," said Campbell's son, Paul Alexander.
According to authorities, the Campbell's family was concerned because they had not heard from her recently. She had not gone to church and missed calling a loved one on their birthday. A family member stopped by the woman's home on Thursday night, but did not see anything suspicious. That individual returned with police officers, and Campbell was found dead inside. Her vehicle is also missing.
Family members said that Campbell lived with her 49-year-old nephew, but he has not been located. He recently got involved with drugs and has been acting hostile, the family added. They are concerned about what may have happened.
Homicide detectives and the Dallas County medical examiner were called to the home early Friday morning. This is currently an unexplained death investigation, pending the results of an autopsy. No suspects have been identified.
