Dallas Train Shooting Spurs DART To Consider Cameras

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — Talk today about adding cameras to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit amid an ongoing search for a suspect who shot two passengers Friday night.

DART police have only station cameras to review after a fight broke out aboard the light rail in South Dallas; the gunman fled the scene after the conductor stopped the train shortly before the 8th and Corinth station.

A DART spokesman told CBS 11 that even before this weekend's shooting they have been considering adding cameras, but the light rail faced challenges because of the many angles of the train car.

Both shooting victims are expected to recover. One victim suffered two gunshots in the head and stomach; the other -- who was a bystander -- was shot in the shoulder.
