DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A 16-year-old high school student will be honored this week by Dallas County.

Joshua Chari isn't like most teens. He already has seven college degrees, and will have another by the end of this semester.

The Berkner High School student has well surpassed the record, in the most college degrees held by a high school student in the U.S. The former record was four.

"I started at an early age before freshman year so I had a lot f time so it was over time because I started early," explained Joshua.

After high school, Joshua wants to attend a four-year Texas university where he plans to duel major in biomedical and mechanical engineering.

On Tuesday, Dallas County Commissioners will read a proclamation honoring the teen.
