Dallas Streets Still Closed As Police Seek Attack Evidence

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Dallas are getting help from the FBI as they work to piece together their investigation of the Thursday night ambush on officers downtown. Many streets in the area remain blocked on Saturday, as they have been since the gunfire erupted, so that authorities can comb over the crime scene.
A row of FBI agents lined up early Saturday morning to move together, inch-by-inch, down the streets. They were taking their time to search for any evidence that might have been missed on Friday. Meanwhile, the very visible signs of the attack -- like a squad car that belonged to one of the slain officers -- remained surrounded by crime scene tape.
Officials said that it could be Wednesday before the streets are cleared.
Some people arrived at the scene on Friday and waited for hours to get back their cars, which had gotten stuck Thursday night inside of the police perimeter. "I didn't have anywhere to go," stated stranded driver Stacey Stevens. "I was walking around all night just worried."
Others stopped by the downtown crime scene just to see it for themselves, hoping that it might help with understanding what happened. "I've moved from fear. I've moved from doubt. My feeling is now hope," said Kellen Nixon. "I feel, as a human race, we can still rectify the problems in society."
