Stars Select Forward/Center Ty Dellandrea With 13th Pick In NHL Draft

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - With the 13th pick in the 2018 NHL Draft the Dallas Stars selected forward Ty Dellandrea.

The Stars tweeted the news moments after their pick.

American Airlines Center was the backdrop.  It was the first time Dallas has ever hosted the NHL Draft.

The Stars brought the Captain of their only Stanley Cup title, Mike Modano and current captain Jamie Benn on stage to make their selection.

Dellandrea most recently played for the Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League. He scored 27 goals and had 59 points in 67 games this season and led the team in goals.

Dellandrea is known as a great two-way player who doesn't turn 18 until the middle of next month.
