DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A baseball great and North Texas native was remembered in Dallas on Friday. Friends and family members celebrated the life of Ernie Banks at a memorial service at The Potter's House. Hundreds of people were on hand to pay tribute to the late sports legend.

Banks was well-known as 'Mr. Cub' in the sports world, for his many years playing shortstop with the Chicago Cubs. He was one of the greatest players in the franchise's history.

Banks died back in January. His funeral and burial services were held in Chicago. He was honored again in the separate Dallas celebration, with his family in attendance.
