DALLAS (CBS 11 News) - Only a short time ago, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings called the widow of firefighter Stan Wilson to offer his condolences and promise change in the city's Fire and Rescue Department.

But Jenny Wilson, in a phone interview with CBS 11's I-Team, said she told the mayor she was disappointed that he did not promise so-called "fire to ground" communications that would help hold department commanders accountable in fighting fires in the future. She said the mayor seemed surprised by her response.

A spokesman for Rawlings told the I-Team he was not available for comment.

Stan Wilson died nearly two years ago after he and other firefighters re-entered a burning apartment complex in search of victims.

The I-Team has been told by multiple sources in the department that the order to go back in should have never been made because it was too dangerous.
