NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Authorities say a Dallas man who brought a teenage girl to New Orleans for prostitution has been sentenced to more than 22 years in prison.

Multiple media outlets report that a federal judge sentenced 26-year-old Taurean Jackson to 270 months in prison on Wednesday.

Authorities say Jackson, who was also known as "Marvelous Rich," persuaded the victim to join him and Andrea Birdow in a prostitution ring.

Spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office Anna Christman says Jackson beat the 16-year-old girl as he had Birdow, who was sentenced to time served earlier this month.

Jackson was arrested after undercover Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested Birdow and the victim in a Metairie hotel in July 2013.

Jackson pleaded guilty in February to sex trafficking of a minor and obstruction charges.
