Dallas Has Plans To Prevent Zika Virus Outbreak

Lots of rain means lots of mosquitoes. Dallas County Health Department announces an early start to mosquito season. Spencer Lockwood with Dallas County Mosquito Control says this year, Zika Virus is a top concern.

"We're continuing to plan for the potential of Zika in the area. If we do have a Zika case, we will set traps, we'll collect the mosquitoes, and then we will also treat the area to prevent or reduce the population, and reduce the spread of the disease."

Dallas County so far has six confirmed Zika cases. All six are linked to foreign travel.
