Dallas Gymnastics Coach Charged With Sexually Abusing Young Child
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Police have arrested a gymnastics coach suspected of continuous sexual abuse of a young child and are asking the public to help them identify other possible victims.
On Friday, Dec. 10, the Dallas Police Department's Crimes Against Children Unit, with the assistance of the US Marshal Violent Criminal Task Force, arrested Edouard Iarov, 69, of Dallas.
Iarov was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a young child, a first-degree felony.
He is a gymnastics coach and owns Iarov Elite Gymnastics, based in Farmers Branch.
According to the USA Gymnastics website, Iarov is on the List of Suspended and Restricted Persons Pending Resolution. He is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors in any USA Gymnastics facilities and events.
Archived images of the website indicate that Iarov was added to the list some time between November 11 and December 6 of this year. It is unclear what circumstances led USA Gymnastics to add him to the list.
USA Gymnastics has not yet commented on the matter.
Police are asking anyone with knowledge of other possible victims associated with Iarov to contact Detective Dwayne Cooper at 214-275-1329 or via email at dwayne.cooper@dallascityhall.com.
Iarov is in the North Tower Jail in Dallas. His bond has been set at $200,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
