Driver Dies In Dallas After Being Shot By Passenger In Car

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder after police say he shot the driver of a vehicle he was in early Wednesday morning.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Brook Valley Lane in the Red Bird area of Dallas.

The victim, identified as 24-year-old Tyler Dancer, was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center but died from his injuries.

According to police, Alton Ray was a passenger in the backseat of the vehicle when he shot Dancer. The shooting caused the vehicle to leave the road and crash into a house.

Police say there was also a 15-year-old inside the vehicle who was uninjured.

Ray was taken to Lew Sterrett Jail on a murder charge. A motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.
