Dallas Cowboys Week 11 Injury Report: Tony Romo Finally Suiting Up Against Ravens

By Shawn Lealos

The Dallas Cowboys have the best record in the NFL and are ready to play their third straight AFC team in the Baltimore Ravens. While the Ravens have been struggling so far this season, especially on offense, their defense still has them in the thick of a playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys got their Pro-Bowl quarterback Tony Romo back from injury. However, with Romo back, a hard decision had to be made, and many feel the Cowboys made the right choice. Here is a look at this week’s Dallas Cowboys injury report.

Tony Romo Is Back, But Will Back Up Dak Prescott

The biggest question this season for the Dallas Cowboys was what they would do if Dak Prescott continued to win and Tony Romo returned from his injury. The answer came this week when Romo was cleared to play. Dallas said they will stick with Prescott as their starting quarterback and Romo will serve as his backup. Romo was gracious about the move and said he wants to do what is best for the team. The big question now is what will happen if Prescott falters. So far, Dallas has let him work his way out of problems and he has succeeded. With Romo back though, one wonders if they would pull the trigger to try to win a game.

Cowboys Still Hurting in Secondary

The Dallas Cowboys have won nine straight games and they have done it with a beaten up defensive unit. They lost three starters on defense before the season started to suspensions and only got one of them back in Demarcus Lawrence. Now, they are suffering from injuries to two starters in the secondary in Morris Claiborne and Barry Church. Luckily, former first round pick Byron Jones is there to pick up the slack for Church and 2016 sixth round pick Anthony Brown has really played better than anyone expected.

Dallas is still one injury away from devastation in the secondary though, and needs to get Claiborne or Church back sooner rather than later. Claiborne isn’t expected to be back until sometime in December, but won’t need surgery. Barry Church had surgery on his broken forearm but is still expected back in December as well.

Baltimore Ravens Key Injuries

The Baltimore Ravens injury report was full, with 12 players listed as questionable, doubtful or out. Linebacker Terrell Suggs is the biggest name on the list, but it is non-injury related and he should play. Two other major names on the list are cornerback Jimmy Smith (back) and linebacker Elvis Dumervil (foot). It is the Ravens' defense that makes them dangerous, so getting their top stars on the field is a priority, but both are listed as doubtful. Smith is the most likely to play on Sunday.
