Report: Dallas County Sheriff Considering Run For Governor

DALLAS (CBS11) - Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez could be considering a run for Texas Governor.
The Texas Tribune said Valdez told them she's exploring a run in 2018 as a Democrat and challenge Republican Governor Greg Abbott.
CBS11 reached out to her office Monday evening.
Her staff would not confirm or deny a possible run for the Governor's office saying, "People have been talking and Sheriff Valdez is listening as she always does. She is currently focused on her job as Sheriff."
