DALLAS (AP) - Dallas County commissioners have decided to allow video visits with jail inmates at a user cost of $10 per 20-minute session.

Commissioners on Tuesday approved the video chat proposal with Securus Technologies.

In-person visits will still be allowed at the jail. Use of video visits will be optional.

Commissioners in September rejected a video visit system that critics said could have ended most in-person visits to inmates.

Securus has also been hired to provide telephone services for Dallas County jail inmates at a cost to users of 20 cents per minute.
