Dallas Convention Center Evacuated Over Bomb Threat
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center was evacuated on Friday due to a bomb threat, according to the City of Dallas.
Police responded to the convention center at around 4 p.m. after someone called the administration office and said that he had placed two backpacks of explosives inside the center and that it was due to go off in 30 minutes.

The convention center was evacuated as units investigated the threat.
Dallas police searched throughout the convention center and determined shortly after 8 p.m. that there were no explosive devices. Multiple backpacks were located inside the center that gave police concern.

Explosive Ordinance Squad completed their searched of the convention center and determined that there were no explosive devices. A Hoax Bomb Threat offense will be generated on case number 279086-2017.
The convention center in downtown Dallas was hosting the Health and Fitness Expo in conjunction with the BMW Dallas Marathon that takes place on Sunday. The center was also playing host to Major League Gaming's Call of Duty World League tournament.
Dallas police said the bomb squad and K-9 units were used to search the convention center.
