FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) - A new development broke ground between the Dallas North Tollway and The Star in Frisco on Tuesday, and city officials have high hopes for the upcoming 'Frisco Station' office park. The plot of land sits empty now, but it will soon be home to a new approach at urban development.

The concept for this 242-acre area is to create a mixed-use master community that merges office space, fitness, medicine and modern living for a perfect work-life balance. The first project for the area broke ground on Tuesday morning -- a seven-story office tower. It should be completed by next August.

But this is just the first of many projects in the 'Frisco Station' development.

"I've been coming up here for 40 years," said Ross Perot Jr. who was the mastermind behind the project. "I've seen this north corridor grow and it is stunning. Everytime I'm up here, which is almost every week, I'm always amazed at what we've done in our community to promote jobs and taxbase and growth."

North Texans can look forward to seeing the rest of 'Frisco Station' area filled in over the coming three to five years. The entire development project has the potential to create 15,000 jobs.
