Crawford To Undergo Shoulder Surgery

IRVING (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford tried to keep on the down-low the fact that he played most of 2015 with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. But he conceded to me that the injury was bad enough that he brushes his teeth with his left hand, and as we spoke Sunday after Dallas' season-ending loss to Washington, he struggles to put on his own sports coat.

So it's no surprise that on Wednesday it was determined that surgery is the best option for Crawford, who tweeted that he'd undergo the procedure on Thursday because he's "gotta get back to 100-percent strength. I'll be back to the work grind in no time, though.''

Crawford sustained the injury in the Cowboys' Week 2 win over the Eagles. That's central to the fact that while the 2012 third-round pick had a solid year, he didn't post huge numbers after signing a five-year, $45-million contract extension with $25.7 million guaranteed in the fall.
