Crane Crash Closes Loop 12 In Irving

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - The northbound lanes of Loop 12 were shut down at Irving Boulevard in Dallas County on Friday morning after a crane slammed into the underside of a bridge.
The crane was being carrying on the back of a transport truck at the time of the crash. Pictures from the scene showed pieces of concrete debris scattered across the highway. There were no reports of injuries.
Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation are now at the scene to inspect the damages. Meanwhile, the left lane has been opened back up to traffic. The other lanes are not expected to be open again until Friday afternoon's rush hour.
The Irving Boulevard bridge over Loop 12 was also closed in both directions, and remains closed now.
Drivers are currently experiencing delays of up to an hour. Anyone who needs to travel through this area should check the traffic map for alternate routes.
