Cowboys Zeke: 'Bad Decision' To Visit Seattle Pot Shop

FRISCO (105.3 THE FAN) - Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott has apologized to the Cowboys for his stroll through a legal marijuana shop while in Seattle last week, and on Monday addressed the "bad decision'' for the benefit of Cowboys Nation.
"It was a bad decision," Elliott said. "I was curious. I didn't really think about it before I went in, what the repercussions could have been. It wasn't like I was trying to hide it or anything. It wasn't like I was up to no good.''
And as true as that might be, a football team runs more smoothly without distractions, as innocuous as they might truly be. (And the Cowboys, trying to deal with the temporary injury lose of QB Tony Romo, has enough on their plate as it is.)
Elliott, who was sensational in his debut in last Thursday's preseason loss at Seattle and will likely be deemed to valuable to risk playing in this Thursday's preseason finale against visiting Houston, noted that he "wasn't breaking any laws or anything.'' And indeed, marijuana is legal in the state of Washington — but not "legal'' for players in the NFL.
"It was,'' Elliott said, "something I shouldn't have done. But I know now. You've definitely got to think of the perception of things before you actually do certain things. It's definitely a learning experience about the scrutiny.''
