OXNARD (105.3 The Fan) - As the Cowboys continue to look for ways to beef up their pass rush, they look at defensive end Damontre Moore, but sources tell me Dallas is not planning to sign him at this time.

The 6-5, 250-pounder is a DFW native and was a standout at Texas A&M, becoming a 2013 third-round pick by the Giants. But he was waived by the team 11 games into last season — depite recording 9.5 sacks over the course of two years — due to a fight in the locker room over ownership of headphones.

Moore, who worked out for the Cowboys in Oxnard on Wednesday (as first noted by Todd Archer), was then and claimed off waivers by the Dolphins, then cut again, and this summer was signed by the Raiders … and then cut again.

Moore has behavioral issues. But the Cowboys have defensive end needs. It makes the workout sensible. It makes the next step worth monitoring.
