NEW YORK (CBS11) — The Dallas Cowboys made their way to New York, and the mission was more than facing the Giants.

Arriving a day early, head coach Jason Garrett had the entire team board a ferry from Jersey City to the 9/11 Memorial site. The players, coaches and staff took it all in as they were paired off in groups with tour guides.

As Joe Daniels, president of the 9/11 Memorial,  put it, "for them to take time out of their busy schedule is something we will never forget and shows a tremendous amount of class."

Daniels also pointed out that Garrett, a player for the Giants on that tragic day, lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan during the worst terrorist attack on American soil. In his words, "this is not about the Cowboys and Giants. ... This is about us as Americans."
