Cowboys TE James Hanna Visiting Chargers

IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - Not all of Dallas' incoming moves are going to be "flashy.'' Similarly, not all of the outgoing moves are "flashy,'' either.

But here's an example of how "flashy'' isn't a synonym for "important'': The Chargers are hosting James Hanna for a visit today.

Hanna has just 19 catches over the last two seasons, a disappointment in the sense that when Dallas drafted him in the sixth round in 2012, they thought the Flower Mound, Texas native and OU product would become a pass-catching weapon.

But instead, backup up Jason Witten, Hanna has developed into a quality blocker — and with the Chargers already having re-signed Antonio Gates, like Witten a future Hall-of-Famer — he projects to San Diego in a role similar to the one in which Dallas projects him should it be able to retain him.
