Cowboys Taking 'No Chances' With Dez

FRISCO (105.3 THE FAN) - When it comes to one aspect of Dez Bryant's return to the field, the All-Pro wide receiver and his Cowboys boss are on the same page.
Jerry Jones tells 105.3 The Fan, "We'll have to see how he works this week.''
And Dez' own view: He plans on trying to practice this week.
Bryant has missed two games with a fracture in his knee. Jones said the Cowboys "won't take any chances here'' in regard to hurrying him back prematurely for this Sunday's game at Green Bay. Dez generally has echoed the same sentiment, telling me his confidence in his 4-1 teammates allow him the sort of patience that is unusual for him.
Jones mentioned Bryant experiencing some "sensitivity'' in the knee at the end of last week, and Dez did not practice at all leading up to Dallas' win over Cincinnati. There is some logic in keeping him shut down for one more Sunday as the Cowboys follow up their meeting with the Packers with a bye week before returning to action on Oct. 30 against the Eagles.
But if you saw Dez' pregame warmup before the Cincy game, you saw how close he might be to health. And if you witnessed, as I did, Dez' postgame celebration — he sprinted towards the winning locker room and vaulted towards the ceiling, two-hand-slapping the wall as if he was dunking an imaginary basketball — you can understand how close Dez and Jerry are to being on the same page when practice resumes this week
